Better skin from within

While I still haven't discovered the root cause of my acne a few things has been helping my skin improve. I've changed a huge amount diet-wise, and I've introduced rather a few supplements. One of which is the Terra Nova Beauty complex. Targeted to improve hair, skin + nails. I originally purchased these because I thought they would help with my hair loss situation. But I never started taking them until now because I wanted to wait for blood results etc first. After nutritional advice regarding my acne (which wasn't present at the time of purchase) I have been slowly improving things with diet changes + supplements I will cover all this in a sperate article soon!

Then I remembered I had bought these and thought it would be a good time to try them, see if that actually improve skin health. I am very pleased to say after just a couple of days of taking these my breakouts have slowed down, I am still getting the odd 1-2 new spots daily but it's not as bad as the 10-15 I was getting prior to any changes. One thing I've noticed is that my skin looks much more plump, radiant and of course fewer spots! I've been taking them for around 2.5 weeks now which isn't actually that long and it can take up to 3 months for any internal change but one thing with my body is that it does react quickly to diet change/supplementation.

So far I am really loving this addition. One thing you need to be wary of when introducing a supplement or a multi-type vitamin is that you're not going to overdose on any of the ingredients check the RDA of each ingredient and make sure that you're not taking a higher dose than you need. For example, if it contains vitamin E and you're taking another vitamin that also contains vitamin E. Another thing to look out for is, for example, this one contains zinc. you need to have a 1:3 ratio of zinc: iron in your diet. So for someone like me who is iron deficient and struggles to absorb and hold onto iron, you need to make sure you up your iron intake to keep things balanced. I'm simply doing this by taking 15mg iron and 5mg zinc. I also make sure to never take them near my iron supplement because zinc can inhibit absorption of iron and vice versa (I think don't quote me - I just know they should be taken at least 3-4 hours apart). So just do a bit of research, speak with your GP or a well-trained nutritionist can help you understand and figure out what's best for you.

I will report back in a month or so with a fuller review, to help you decide if this could help with hair thickening or growth, nail strength and if they improved growing time and obviously further updates on my skin!

What makes your skin happy?
