BENEFITS OF COCONUT OIL | OIL PULLING


Coconut oil is possibly my favourite oil... second to argan and rosehip! If you don't own any already you should. So before I tell you the many benefits of this oil I wanted to give a brief description of 'oil pulling' something I have been practising for over a year. You don't have to use coconut oil but this is the oil I choose to use because I like the flavour. All you need to do is every morning, before you eat or brush your teeth take a spoonful of oil and swish it around in your mouth for 20 minutes (sounds like a long time but do it whilst you shower) spit it out, not down the sink as it solidifies (down the loo or into the bin is best) if you cant handle 20 minutes try 10 in the morning and 10 before bed! Or you could slowly build yourself up by adding a minute each week. What does it do? Pulls all the toxins from your body plus it whitens your teeth. I've no idea how but it does! What does it feel like? Its a little thick at first but the warmth from your mouth will melt the oil instantly after that it's not so bad the more you do it the more pleasant it becomes. Its kinda like a facial exercise too with all the swishing you can really feel your cheek and jaw muscles working out.

As well as using this fabulous oil for pulling I use it to massage into my cuticles and hands everyday it helps keep them moisturised its really helped strengthen my nails and its a saviour if I haven't been taking care of my hands for a few days.
 I also like to use it in cooking its probably the healthiest oil you can use with your food because it doesn't produce free radicals!
